Predictive Discovery (ASX: PDI) continues to unravel the untapped exploration potential in Burkina Faso, West Africa, with bonanza grade gold hits over one metre including 93.3 grams per tonne (g/t) and 80g/t, from reverse circulation drilling.
The high grade highlights from the Solna Prospect include:
- 2 metres at 55.8/t gold from 65 metres, including 1 metre at 93.3g/t gold;
- 7 metres at 12.8g/t gold from 117 metres, including 1 metre at 80g/t gold; and
- 20 metres at 1.1g/t gold from 120 metres, including 2 metres at 7.3g/t gold.
The significance of the results is the confirmation at the Bangaba Project hosts a high grade gold field with considerable potential.
Gold mineralisation has now been identified in multiple zones over at least 400 metres of strike, with the best drill results so far located on the southern most line.
Paul Roberts, managing director, added "New high grade zones at the Solna Prospect not mined by artisanal workers were identified along with a clearer understanding of the geological setting, thereby enhancing the area’s potential.
"The Solna zone is also open along strike to the south‐west and north‐east and is part of a shear zone that extends for 10 kilometres, largely beneath thin cover."
Predictive Discovery will target this area with extensive exploration at the conclusion of the current wet season.
Aeromagnetics will also be conducted over the Bangaba project followed by PredictoreTM analysis and power auger geochemistry, which will determine Solna’s strike extent and potential for new zones of mineralisation.
Bangaba is not the only project delivering a string of gold hits for Predictive Discovery in Burkina Faso, with last month the first 11 reverse circulation holes at the Dave East prospect intersected near surface gold, which is part of the Bonsiega project.
Highlights included; 12 metres at 2.9g/t gold from 50 metres, 2 metres at 12.4g/t gold from 72 metres, and 12 metres at 1.3g/t gold from 34 metres.
