Seeking Alpha Analyst Since 2009
Golden Gate Petroleum (ASX: GGP) is carrying out through testing of a gas lift system that replaced the down hole submersible pump at its SRH-5 horizontal well in Texas.
The company has also recorded production of 1,468.1 barrels of oil equivalent for the in the two week period ending 15 July 2013. This included 184.8boe from the Hensarling-1 well.
Golden Gate noted that performance of the SRH-5H well under the gas lift system has been below expectations with production rates of less than 100boe per day.
It is examining several causes for the low production levels which may be due to a partial blockage in the well bore due to possible flow back of the frac proppant or formation material, a chemical reaction between frac fluid and formation impeding flow rates or the actual rock properties of the A bench in the Wolfcamp.
The company added that it is continuing to improve performance from the well.
Golden Gate had replaced the downhole submersible pump as it was not efficient due to the amount of gas being produced at the early stages of the well's production.
