Investigator Resources Puts Alexander Silver Target To The Drill Test In South Australia
Investigator Resources (ASX: IVR) is about to find just how potentially large the Alexander silver-in-soil target is relative to the Paris silver prospect in South Australia with a diamond drill turning this week.
There is a sense of expectation given the interpretation that Alexander could be three times larger in area than the similar signature for the Paris silver prospect.
It is potentially an offset extension of the Paris system, and will provide further information about the size of the Peterlumbo Field.
A diamond drill rig has been moved from the Paris project and commenced drilling the centre of the Alexander silver target 2 kilometres west of Paris on the 28th July.
Two inclined core holes of nominal 200 metres downhole depth are initially planned at Alexander.
A smaller rig will also commence pattern drilling of vertical aircore holes at Alexander later this week on a nominal 40 metres x 200 metre grid to test the full extent of the large target.
Exceptional silver-in-soil results were identified the 2,400 metres by 400 metres coherent soil anomaly at Alexander which is several times larger in area than the initial target at Paris.
John Anderson, managing director said: "Investigator is delighted to report that drilling has now commenced as scheduled at the Alexander prospect, 2 kilometres west of our Paris Silver Project, in the exciting next phase of exploration for the Peterlumbo Field.
"We are now starting to test the Alexander target with an initial two-hole diamond core program to establish the geological and depth potential ahead of extensive shallow drilling along the length of the large target." Anderson added.
The Hector silver-in-soil target situated 15 kilometres east of Paris has a larger target signature and represents another priority silver target in the Peterlumbo field.
The aircore rig is expected to move on to scout drill the Hector target area from mid-August.
