Focus Metals appoints VP of exploration, buys 200 Quebec mining claims

Focus Metals (CVE:FMS) announced Friday it appointed Tony Brisson as vice president of exploration, effective immediately. The company also announced its purchase of 200 mining claims, located in Quebec.

President and CEO, Gary Economo said: "Mr. Brisson’s addition to Focus Metals’ management, particularly his strong mining and mine development background in Quebec and abroad, brings additional strength to our core management team as we begin to implement our longer-term corporate agenda.

"[His] exploration and mine development skills and experience dovetail with our current mission to expand and enhance our understanding of our Lac Knife, Quebec graphite property and our future domestic and international acquisitions."

Brisson has several years experience, including nine years with private company, Cambior Inc as an exploration and mining geologist, and seven years as vice president of exploration at Cogitore Resources Inc (CVE:WOO).

In addition to having received the Quebec Exploration Mining Association's Prospector of the Year award, Brisson has also held various senior mining management positions with Breakwater Resources (TSE:BWR) and Campbell Resources (OTC:CBLRF).

In other news, Focus said it will purchase 200 mining claims located in Quebec, though the company did not disclose the exact location of the claims, or from whom they will be purchased.

The company did say it will pay the vendors $125,000 and issue 375,000 common shares. The deal is subject to the approval of the TSX Venture Exchange.

Focus shares closed on Friday at $0.95 on the TSX-Venture.
