Argent Minerals: Progresses DFS for 1.5mtpa silver lead zinc gold operation at Kempfield

Argent Minerals (ASX: ARD) has updated the market on the company's wholly owned Kempfield project, which is located 30 kilometres south of Blayney in New South Wales.

As part of the Definitive Feasibility Study now underway for a 1.5 mtpa silver, lead, zinc and gold operation - Argent has completed an infill and extensional drilling program.

At the McCarron Zone, the following results are within and beyond the north and north eastern boundaries of the pit.

- 4 metres at 0.25 grams per tonne (g/t) gold, 40.1g/t silver and 11.6% lead plus zinc from 94 metres;
- 10 metres at 0.37g/t gold, 141.8g/t silver and 0.6% lead plus zinc from 4 metres; and
- 61 metres at 0.13g/t gold, 102.7g/t silver and 1.6% lead plus zinc from 24 metres, including 10 metres 290.4g/t silver.

Importantly, Argent said that the high grade ore is likely to extend the proposed pit.

At the south western corner of the McCarron Zone, highlights included 48 metres at 0.62g/t gold, 42.1g/t silver and 4.3% lead plus zinc from 58 metres, including 4 metres at 1.75g/t gold, 129.0g/t silver and 8.3% lead plus zinc.

BJ Zone

Hole AKRC84 tested a postulated extension of the BJ Zone north of a major cross fault. No significant intersections were encountered.

Three short holes AKRC104, 105 and 106 tested, and closed off, the eastern extent of the BJ Zone. Holes AKRC119, 122, 126 and 128 successfully tested the depth continuity within the proposed BJ pit.

Quarries Zone

Hole AKRC115 intersected high grade silver, averaging 120g/t over 40 metres, confirming the high grade intersected in the original percussion hole 3PD 84 drilled 20 metres to the north.

Another hole has been drilled some 40 metres to the south to test for further continuity of the high grade silver and assays are awaited.
