Argent Minerals: high grade base metal intersections 100m below proposed BJ Pit

Argent Minerals (ASX: ARD) has now completed six reverse circulation holes to test depth extension of the BJ and McCarron ore zones hosted within the Kempfield project, with potential extensions up to 100 metres below the base of the current optimized pit shells.

Three holes intersected higher grade mineralization below the base of the proposed pit, with highlights including:

- 80 metres at 30.2 grams per tonne (g/t) silver and 1.77% lead plus zinc; (hole AKRC146)
- 26 metres at 37.8g/t silver, with 1.7% lead plus zinc; and
- 44 metres at 25.7g/t silver, 0.12g/t gold and 1.97% lead plus zinc. (hole AKRC139)

Importantly for Argent, the results from these six holes together with those from the other infill and extensional drilling undertaken over the past six months will be included in a revised resource estimate to be done as part of the Definitive Feasibility Study now being undertaken.

Kerry McHugh, chairman, commented, "the results confirmed the depth potential of the BJ ore zone with the higher grade base metals intersections in hole AKRC139 being particularly encouraging.

"BJ is proving to be very consistent, it is currently modelled as being 170 metres from surface to the base of the pit and these drill holes indicate that mineralization extends for at least a further 50 metres with the system still open at depth.

"It is also noteworthy that the depth extensions appear to be maintaining the width of the mineralization e.g., the intersection in hole AKRC146 of 80 metres grading 30 g/t silver and 1.77% lead/zinc."

Kempfield project is located 7 kilometres west of Trunkey Creek and 30 kilometres South of Blayney in New South Wales.

The current resource is 20.6 million tonnes for 31.6 million silver ounces, 65,000 gold ounces and 261,111 tonnes of lead and zinc.

A major plus for the resource is 69% is hosted in the higher confidence Measured and Indicated categories.
