Sun Resources Appoints Matthew Battrick Managing Director

The board of Sun Resources (ASX:SUR) has appointed Matthew Battrick as managing director and chief executive officer, effectively immediately.

Battrick has been serving as the acting CEO recently, and previously served as the company's MD and CEO from 15 January 2008 to 20 March 2013.

He also brings international experience from working with companies such as ASMO, Ampolex, ExxonMobil and Eni.

Battrick will now lead the executive team toward the commercial success the company expects in the Woodbine tight oil play (also known as the Eaglebine) with a number of strategic project areas totalling almost 20,000 net acres.

This includes the Normangee Oil Project, where Sun is operator and oil is expected after fracking of the Jack Howe lateral is completed.

Hancock Prospecting Pty Ltd is a major shareholder of Sun, holding around 19.5% of the company.
