Predictive Discovery (ASX: PDI) has returned further high grade intersections from reverse circulation drilling at the Bangaba Project in Burkina Faso, moving it closer to a maiden JORC Resource in the next 6 months.
The results at Solna, which includes a 2 metre at 20.4 grams per tonne (g/t) gold result, has confirmed the prospect is a high grade deposit while the Tambiri results, which include a 20 metre at 2.3g/t gold intersection, point to additional potential both at the northern margin and the southern end point.
The reverse circulation drill program was designed primarily to infill or test extensions of the known mineralisation at Solna and Tambiri.
The results have clarified the geological interpretation at both Solna and Tambiri though additional drilling will be required for a JORC Resource calculation over the full extent of the mineralisation identified to date.
Predictive plans to carry out this drilling in October and November this year and may also drill test the new extensions at Tambiri and Solna at the same time.
A preliminary program of metallurgical testwork on samples from both Solna and Tambiri is also planned over the coming months.
Highlights at Tambri include:
20 metres at 2.3g/t gold from 48 metres including 1m at 15g/t gold ‐ northern extension
20 metres at 2.2g/t gold from 138 metres including 4m at 7.0g/t gold - southern extension
12 metres at 1.7g/t gold from 8 metres
12 metres at 1.4g/t gold from 96 metres
12m metres at 1.4g/t gold from 108 metres
These results largely confirm earlier geological interpretation save the two 20 metre intercepts , which extend the outline of thicker gold intercepts both to the north and south.
Tambiri gold mineralisation is also open at depth directly beneath the zone of higher grade
At Solna, better drill hole intercepts include:
2 metres at 20.4g/t gold from 70 metres including 1 metres at 40g/t gold
4 metres at 8.0g/t gold from 194 metres including 1 metres at 29g/t gold
5 metres at 5.7g/t gold from 39 metres including 1 metres at 12g/t gold
2 metres at 10g/t gold from 134 metres including 1 metres at 19g/t gold
2 metres at 10g/t gold from 51 metres
The new results have resulted in a revised interpretation of the deposit as being simpler than previously understood.
The bulk of the gold mineralisation is located within the "B Lode" which generally dips to the south‐east at an angle of about 50 degrees while a higher grade zone - with results including 5.6 metres at 16g/t gold, 7 metres at 13g/t gold, 4 metres at 8g/t gold and 2 metres at 10g/t gold - appears to plunge shallowly towards the east.
These grades and widths are likely to support underground mining and warrant follow‐up because mineralisation remains open at depth.
South of the B Lode, two other lodes are identified, both with high grade cores which peak at 2 metres at 56g/t gold ("A Lode") and 6 metres at 20g/t gold ("D Lode").
Bangaba covers 128 square kilometres in eastern Burkina Faso, and includes areas of extensive artisanal mining where it is estimated that several tonnes of gold have been produced over 27 years.
Predictive Discovery is earning a 95% interest in the project through a series of staged payments in cash and shares. The company's interest currently stands at 68%.
