Watches are one of the few pieces of jewelry a guy can wear and some guys don't mind spending a few bucks on a nicer watch. There are many high quality watches in a relatively reasonable price range, however, you have to be careful not to go for the fashion watches. You want to choose a brand that is reputable and produces a quality product. All of the watches in the list I have compiled are of good quality and will be long lasting in terms if style.
1. Hugo Boss Metropolis - Maxx Men's Stainless Steel Watch
Although I said stay away from fashion labels, Hugo Boss watches are an exception in my opinion. They are developed by Swiss watch designers using quality materials and components. All Hugo Boss watches are equipped with automatic or quartz Swiss movements, guaranteeing high precision and reliability. In terms of this particular model, I love the over-sized face paired with the stainless steel bracelet. It's masculine, sporty and elegant making it truly versatile.
2. Baume & Mercier Classima Watch
Baume & Mercier is one of the oldest of Swiss watch companies. It was founded in 1830 by the Baume family and joined in 1918 with the Mercier’s from Geneva. The company is now part of the Richemont Group, which also owns Cartier and Piaget, among others. The Classima model has a distinguished profile and is truly classic. Talk about simplicity. This watch will last for years to come and never go out of style. I love all of its iterations in terms of finishes, straps and face styles.
3. TAG Heuer 'Formula 1' Chronograph Watch
Sporty watches are really popular right now and all black versions are more sought after. Guys are even wearing sporty watches with dressier attire. This TAG Heuer 'Formula 1' chronograph watch has a rubber strap and is water resistant up to 200 meters. It also has a scratch resistant sapphire crystal. It's ideal for the more athletic or sporty guy who also has style.
4. Jaeger LeCoultre Watches
I included these watches in the list of my top picks because the models are just so good looking. It's simple and the large round face is masculine and elegant. I would definitely buy this one for myself.
5. Raymond Weil 'Don Giovanni' Parsifal W1
The Raymond Weil Parsifal brushed stainless steel watch with two subdials and a date window is another well made watch for the price. It is perfect for the professional guy who wants a handsome watch for office and play.
6. TAG Heuer 'Carrera' Automatic Watch
The Tag Heuer Carrera 39 mm automatic was originally launched in 1964. It has a classic look which I love. It features a brushed and polished steel bracelet and case with a matching silver dial. You can also get black dial or a black leather strap, but I personally love the all silver version.
7. Movado 'Eliro' Stainless Steel Watch
There was a time when I though Movado watches were going to look dated, but they have stood the test of time (no pun intended). They are sleek, simple and perfect for the guy who doesn't like things to look busy or complicated.
8. Victorinox Swiss Army 'Men's Chrono Classic XLS Titanium' Watch
Everybody recognizes that Victorinox Swiss Army watches are a great value. You get Swiss precision at a more affordable price. This particular model has a really cool oversized face with subdials which resembles a couple of pricey Tag Heuer and Omega watches. This is a great choice for the guy who likes a big faced watch that is masculine and not too trendy.
