People always ask me why Advocacy? Well here is some feedback from recent FINRA study that answers that question.
More that 80% of the survey participants said they had received solicitations to buy into a potential scam. More importantly the survey showed that 4 in 10 Americans can't spot the warnings signs when someone is trying to rip them off. This group consistently gave an approval when approached with guaranteed returns in excess of 100% through differing investment offerings. Sadly the vast majority of Americans are not able to identify the classic warnings signs or red flags of fraudulent offerings.
Those 65 and older are 30% more likely to buy into a scam offering then those in the 40's are.
The reality of victimization is that it is behavior driven and the Advocacy Network works with our members to identify and change the behaviors which are driven through 3 basic psychological triggers. Once an individual is aware of these triggers and is willing to follow our simple plan they will be fully inoculated and insulated against scams, fraud and predatory sales tactics. To date we have saved our members over $4M in what would have been potential losses. This is the answer to why Advocacy.
