50 EMA crosses 200 EMA backtested

Over the last few weeks I have heard multiple people discuss the fact that the 50 EMA is crossing below the 200 EMA. So I backtested this system from 1991 until this week. The results are below. It gave a sell signal last week so it is all cash right now.
From 12/2/1991 until this week it has averaged 8% annually while the S&P 500 has averaged 5.67%.
