I get a fair number of "requests" to research/write-up companies. It's almost always with the expectation that I'll like them and be bullish, and it's often on small, truly turdful wastes of space and capital.
So I've found that procrastination is my friend. If I write it up and talk about the company's full turdicity, the person who sent the "tip" usually gets angry about it. If I decline to do it, they get angry.
But if I say I'm too busy ("... but I'll definitely add it to my list and get to it as soon as possible!) and just wait a bit, about 70%-90% of the time the stock collapses of its own accord and I'm saved the aggravation.
Ahhh, sweet sloth. My boon companion.
