· Apple’s most recent iPhone introductions are likely to keep the company and the stock in a position of outperformance in the near term.
· However, in our view, the new iPhones are not a significant uptick in terms of functionality or performance from previous models.
· At the same time, new Android based superphones from HTC, Samsung and Motorola among others are narrowing the appeal and performance gap.
· AT&T’s continuing exclusivity remains a positive for AT&T, but also represents a lost opportunity for Apple and a chance for Android phones to close the market share momentum gap.
