A Buy alert!

No Way?

A Stock for the Ages – Maybe!

Star Scientific Inc. (CIGX) $4.50 Nasdaq

Obviously, there's a bunch going on with Star Scientific, as the shares have recently rocketed from $1.60 to $5.12 - but this story will really, really make you ponder on what's going on with the company and how their research is progressing.

The anecdotal story goes... that the a while back Richard L. Sharp the (former) Chairman of the Board of Crocs Inc. NYSE was part of a study at Roskamp Institute. He had taken a leave of absence from the company due to what was thought to be Alzheimer's. http://biz.yahoo.com/e/101203/crox8-k.html

Rumors were out there that he was the beneficiary of some kind of miraculous healing from this devastating illness after his experience at Roskamp. I repeat that this account about Mr. Sharp and his experience at Roskamp is 100% unsubstantiated, but the story got around.

That's interesting enough due to what we know of what's going on at the Roskamp Institute with their human Alzheimer studies etc...

Now, we hear that Mr. Sharp is a new board member of Star Scientific.  No way. Right? http://www.starscientific.com/news/richard-l-sharp-former-board-chair-of-circuit-city-carmax-joins-star-scientific-board/

Mr. Sharp was also Chairman of Circuit City and Carmax

Star Scientific makes the product the Roskamp Institute uses for their Alzheimer studies.

Excuse me, as I reach for a couple of CigRx’s lozenges...

If true this is momentous news for Star Scientific and their shares as it not only validates, but hammers home much of what we have already thought about the progress of Roskamp’s activities.

This whole story about (CIGX) gets better and better, it's almost unreal. While the stock is well up from its long trading range with what's going on I think most stockholders think that the share price should be much higher. Naturally, this presents us with an opportunity to buy more.

Disclaimer; I own shares in Star Scientific
