Retail Sales cuts against employment picture

egardless of unemployment news, people have to come to terms with our current economic reality in the US. People are cautious with their purchasing, and its all because of the employment situation. A look at the Retail Sales lever in the context of unemployment illustrates this:

But here is the year-over-year Retail Sales data. It’s much more helpful in understanding that Americans are not buying:
