CURRENT COMMENTARY

The market had one of its typical volatile days when the Federal Reserve speaks.  Based on today's trading activity we are lowering the resistance levels on the S&P 500 and Nasdaq Composite (see below) and leaving the same level for the DJIA.  The semiconductor index came close to touching its 50-day moving average but quickly backed off.  The SOX is a good leading indicator and right now its relative strength is underperforming the overall stock market direction.  The SOX will need to gain strength for the rally in stocks to continue.  We are going to close the profile in Alcoa (symbol: AA) at tomorrow's open price.  Alcoa did manage to close right at the $11.17 support level but its lower close was on heavy volume.
