While driving into NYC, I noticed an interesting trend. More than 50% of Billboards directly off the Long Island Expressway were not being used, empty, or blank. I remembered the old Clear Channel notion that Billboards (Outdoor advertising) were huge cash flow generators. Maybe they have become vulnerable to environment complaints, fewer commuters driving because of high gas prices, or a casualty the "invisibly" weak economy.
A couple of weeks later I saw the same situation while driving close to Philadelphia, a majority of Billboards empty, blank and not used.
Since I can't verify if this is a local phenomenon or nationwide. Is it a short-term or later indication? I am asking for help.
Could other individuals observe and comment on their local Billboard Usage to me Alan Schlesinger at , firstname.lastname@example.org . Does the "BBI Index" (Billboard Index) have a place among $SPX $NDX $INDU $SPY $QQQ $DIA $VIX
Hopefully this study will gain traction ,you will not be stuck in traffic and BE CAREFUL watch the road!
