Global Hunter Begins Surface Sampling Program

Global Hunter Corp. (TSX.V:BOB) (“Global Hunter”) is pleased to announce that it recently completed a surface sampling program at La Corona de Cobre.

The program was designed to collect large surface samples from the numerous prospective shear zones. This will aid in the definition of drill targets to expand on the copper oxide mineralization.

One of Global Hunter's top focus is on strategic and base metals - particularly copper and molybdenum. It is estimated that there are 12 million metric tons of molybdenum in the world.

What is Molybdenum Used for?

Molybdenum is used in steel alloys for its high corrosion resistance and weldability. The metal has found recent application as electrodes for electrically heated glass furnaces and forehearths. The metal is also used in nuclear energy applications and for missile and aircraft parts.

Molybdenum is also widely used in the petroleum industry, to catalyze the removal of organic sulfur compounds in coal liquification and gas liquification processes.

There are vast uses for copper metal.

How about Copper?

Copper metal and alloys have been used for thousands of years. In the Roman era, copper was principally mined on Cyprus, hence the origin of the name of the metal as Cyprium, "metal of Cyprus", later shortened to Cuprum.

Copper is easily stretched, molded, and shaped; is resistant to corrosion; and conducts heat and electricity efficiently. As a result, copper was important to early humans and continues to be a material of choice for a variety of domestic, industrial, and high-technology applications today.

The insides of the pans must be coated with tin, however, because too much copper in our food is toxic.

By far the most important use of copper is in electrical wiring; it is an excellent conductor of electricity (second only to silver), it can be made extremely pure, it corrodes very slowly, and it can be formed easily into thin wires — it is very ductile.

Future Plans for Global Hunter

Global Hunter intends to prepare a multi-hole drill program on the shear zones scheduled to begin early 2011 as part of its ongoing evaluation of its Corona de Cobre project.

In addition to sampling and drilling of the prospective shear zones at La Corona de Cobre mentioned above, The Company will continue its work on the Las Posadas resource over the coming months and will provide a summary of its progress as information becomes available.

Global Hunter Corp. engages in the acquisition, exploration, and development of mineral properties in Canada and Chile. Global Hunter primarily explores for gold, copper, and base and precious metals. Global Hunter was founded in 1988 and is headquartered in Vancouver, Canada. Copyright CRWEpicks.com
