  Magnolia Solar Corporation (OTCQB:MGLT)

MGLT announced today that its wholly owned subsidiary has recently received funding for a Phase II contract from the New York State Energy Research and Development Authority (NYSERDA). This contract is for continued effort to demonstrate high-efficiency nanostructured thin film solar cells, and represents the second phase of a previously announced three-phase, one million dollar development program.

The award of the Phase II funds was approved after the MGLT team met the Phase I milestones for the development of nanostructure based thin film solar cells. Phase I accomplishments included the demonstration of advanced, tunable antireflection coatings for solar cells on glass substrates and the development of nanostructured absorber materials to capture a larger part of the solar spectrum for the high efficiency solar cell development. For the Phase II efforts, MGLT will continue optimizing this unique solar cell technology.

MGLT has opened an office at the Albany Nanotech complex on the University of Albany campus. This allows MGLT employees to collaborate closely with the development team members at the College of Nanoscale Science and Engineering (CNSE) and Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (NYSEMKT:RPI), and to better capitalize on the world-class characterization facilities available in the New York Capital region.

Dr. Ashok K. Sood, the President and CEO of MGLT, said, "We are delighted to be working very closely with NYSERDA and our University partners in the New York Capital region. Progress to Phase II represents completion of an important milestone in our development program. We are committed to growing in the Albany region, leveraging the tremendous infrastructure at the Albany Nanotech Center. We intend to provide environmentally responsible, low cost solutions for the solar power industry and to be part of the New York state's energy future."

MGLT, a development stage company, focuses on the development of thin film solar cells. MGLT intends to commercialize nanotechnology-based thin film technology that can be deposited on glass and other flexible structures. MGLT's technology would be utilized in power generation for electrical grids, as well as local applications, including lighting, heating, traffic control, irrigation, and water distillation, as well as other residential, agricultural, and commercial applications. MGLT's target customers include federal civilian and military agencies; and institutional commercial customers, such as large corporations, non-governmental organizations, universities, and solar powered electric generating stations. MGLT was founded in 2008 and is based in Woburn, Massachusetts.

Anadigics, Inc. (Nasdaq:ANAD)

ANAD introduced a new power amplifier (PA) for use in WiMAX customer premises equipment (NYSE:CPE) and small cell infrastructure solutions. ANADIGICS' AWB7221 is the most power efficient PA available for WiMAX CPEs, and also enables cost efficient femtocells for 3G and 4G networks. The high linear transmit power of the AWB7221 enables CPEs with a powerful uplink that supports wide, high data rate network coverage. The device's excellent power efficiency reduces the overall power consumption of a CPE or femtocell, leading to a reduction in system cooling requirements and less costly designs. The AWB7221 PA enhances network performance in key global WiMAX markets such as North America, Japan and Korea, and also supports new LTE or TD-LTE networks in the 2.30 GHz to 2.70 GHz frequency bands.

ANAD provides semiconductor solutions to the broadband wireless and wireline communications markets. ANAD's products include power amplifiers, tuner integrated circuits, active splitters, line amplifiers, and other components.
