PWRM, a bio-technology company, engages in the development and marketing of diagnostic tests in the fields of cancer, and neurodegenerative and neuromuscular diseases in the United States. PWRM’s products include BC-SeraPro, a proteomic blood serum test for the early detection of breast cancer; and NuroPro, a serum test for the detection of neurodegenerative diseases, such as amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, Alzheimer’s disease, and Parkinson’s disease. Walgreens (NASDAQ:WAG)

WAG will hold its 2010 Analyst Day in Chicago on Thursday, Nov. 4, beginning at 10 a.m. central time. Walgreens senior leadership team will provide an overview of WAG’s vision and growth strategy, and detail how it is executing that strategy to increase shareholder value.

NiSource Inc. (NYSE:NI)

NI announced net operating earnings from continuing operations (non-GAAP) of $10.3 million, or 4 cents per share, for the three months ended September 30, 2010, a decrease from $19.4 million, or 7 centsper share, for the third quarter of 2009. Operating earnings (non-GAAP) were $109.9 million for the recent three months compared to $134.8 million for the same period in 2009. On a GAAP basis, NiSource reported income from continuing operations for the three months endedSeptember 30, 2010, of $33.4 million, or 12 cents per share, compared with a loss of $13.2 million, or 5 centsper share, in the same period a year ago. Operating income was $123.3 million for the third quarter of 2010 compared with $93.6 million in the year-ago period. Schedules 1 and 2 of this news release contain a reconciliation of net operating earnings and operating earnings from continuing operations to GAAP.

NiSource Inc., an energy holding company, through its subsidiaries, provides natural gas, electricity, and other products and services. It operates in four segments: Gas Distribution Operations, Gas Transmission and Storage Operations, Electric Operations, and Other Operations. The Gas Distribution Operations segment provides natural gas to residential, commercial, and industrial customers.


Brookfield Properties Corporation (NYSE:BPO)

BPO announced that net income attributable to common shareholders for the three months ended September 30, 2010 was $156 million or $0.28 per diluted share. Funds from operations (“FFO”) was $169 million or $0.32 per diluted share for the three months ended September 30, 2010. Commercial property net operating income for the third quarter of 2010 was $175 million. Residential property net operating income for the third quarter of 2010 was $32 million.

Brookfield Properties Corporation is a publicly owned real estate investment firm. The firm engages in the ownership, development, and management of premier commercial properties. It also provides ancillary real estate service businesses, such as tenant service and amenities. Pfizer Inc. (NYSE:PFE)

PFE announced this month that the Japanese Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare approved Lyrica® (pregabalin) capsules for the treatment of peripheral neuropathic pain. This follows the recent approval in Japan of Lyrica for the treatment of postherpetic neuralgia on April 16, 2010.
