Hiru Corporation subsidiary Jiangxi Shaungshi Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd (Shaungshi AHP) launched the Jiangxi Shaungshi Biological Medicines Institute.

Shuangshi AHP is currently researching several new veterinary drugs for development within the next two years. The company launched this new institute to strengthen and speed up the research and development processes. Smith Micro Software, Inc. (NASDAQ:SMSI), a leading developer and marketer of software solutions and services for the mobility market, recently reported financial results for its 2010 third quarter ended September 30, 2010.

SMSI reported record revenue of $34.0 million for the third quarter ended September 30, 2010, a 22.2% increase over the $27.8 million reported in the third quarter ended September 30, 2009.

Third quarter gross profit on a GAAP basis of $30.2 million increased $5.9 million, or 24.5%, from the third quarter ended September 30, 2009. On a non-GAAP basis (which excludes amortization of intangibles, stock compensation and non-cash tax expense), third quarter gross profit was $31.8 million, an increase of $6.3 million, or 24.8%, from the same quarter last year.


Protective Life Corporation (NYSE:PL) recently reported results for the third quarter of 2010.

Net income available to common shareowners for the third quarter of 2010 was $70.4 million compared to $27.6 million in the third quarter of 2009, an increase of 155%. Net income available to common shareowners per average diluted share was $0.80 for the third quarter of 2010 compared to $0.32 in the prior year’s quarter.

Operating income, after tax, for the third quarter of 2010 was $62.8 million compared to $47.9 million in the third quarter of 2009, an increase of 31%. Operating income per average diluted share for the third quarter of 2010 was $0.71 compared to $0.55 in the prior year’s quarter.


McCormick & Schmick’s Seafood Restaurants, Inc. (Nasdaq:MSSR) reported recently the addition of two new members to its Board of Directors.
