GBT Technologies Inc. (OTC PINK:GTCH) has begun development of a long range radio system targeting global communication for remote telemedicine. This will involve an ultra-long-range radio system working with the company’s qTerm human vital signs device “to enable data and audio communication for long distances.” GBT’s CTO Danny Rittman explained:
"Imagine a mountain climber somewhere in the Himalayas that encountered a health-related issue and needs an immediate physician consultation. Obviously, there is no conventional communication at this location and even a satellite phone can maintain near-continuous, delayed global coverage at times. With this system the climber will be able to take vitals using a qTerm device and send the results to a physician in New York city in real-time. Since the technology is designed to be bi-directional we envision the physician being able to advise on further steps to assist with the health emergency. In addition, a full audio communication can be established with the physician via this channel."
Open Text Corporation (NasdaqGS:OTEX) has announced the release of BrightCloud Cloud Service Intelligence, which according to the press release enables “Cloud Access Security Brokers (CASB) and other security and technology vendors to enforce data-centric security policies and prevent unwanted interactions with cloud services and associated applications.” OpenText Chief Product Officer Muhi Majzoub explained:
"The risks in securing cloud applications are fairly straightforward; if IT doesn't know about an unsanctioned application or service, they can't adequately protect it or the data it accesses and stores. Modern user practices, tools and remote work are demanding a new era of real-time visibility.
