DeepWay, a company backed by Baidu, Inc. (NasdaqGS:BIDU), has unveiled Xingtu, described as “a smart new energy heavy-duty truck with a computing power of more than 500 TOPS and ultra-long-distance sensing capabilities of more than 1 kilometer,” marking “Baidu's entry into the USD multi-trillion global freight market.” Xingtu is powered by Baidu’s AI technology stack as well as its Apollo autonomous driving platform. Yunpeng Wang, vice president and general manager of autonomous driving technology at Baidu, said:
"Autonomous driving must use advanced driverless technology to create new products that offer the ultimate experience in order to achieve commercial success. We aim to create value in real-life scenarios such as transporting people, delivery and life services. This new generation of vehicle is by no means just a modified truck – it's a robot truck."
C3.ai, Inc. (NYSE:AI) has announced that aluminum packaging solutions provider Ball Corporation (NYSE:BLL) has selected C3 AI Energy Management and C3 AI Ex Machina to help achieve its sustainability goals, “and to identify new opportunities to operate with greater energy efficiency.” Adam Shalapin, Global Sustainability Manager, Ball Corporation, explained:
