US coking coal prices mixed as domestic contracts settle
- 12 Dec 2010
Bloomberg reported that US spot metallurgical coal prices were mixed as producers and domestic customers concluded contract negotiations.
As per report, spot prices for low volatility coking coal increased USD 2.25 or 1% to USD 227.25 a tonne. High volatility coal fell by USD 5.25 or 2.3% to USD 219.75.
Energy Publishing said that "US suppliers are close to wrapping domestic contract business, which had been derailed as buyers expressed angst at high price offerings, especially for top high volume coals."
Energy Publishing said that it surveys buyers and sellers of coal to determine pricing.
