First, this is not a recommendation to buy or sell.  Just a sharing of opinion.

Second, I believe each person chooses their own path in this life.  Mine is basically old school, relationships based on level of trust (informed by experience), and this has guided my investment actions.

In other words, I want money to do more than just make money.  I want it to help make our world a better place!

For that reason, I am long on Berkshire Hathaway where (to paraphrase Warren Buffett) ... a financial loss may be tolerated, but never a loss of integrity!   It sends a signal to new entrepreneurs that you can succeed in business without being unethical.

For that reason, I am also long on Lockheed Martin where (to paraphrase Robert Stevens) ... first do the right thing then do the thing right!

W. Edwards Deming made a significant impact on innovative business methods by challenging firms to add value to this world, not just make money.

If you visit YONGYE International's website and review the company mission and history, you will find that their CEO has a vision of improving the lives of the rural farm population.  The company has engaged in an extensive program of education and training, has contributed product to assist those without the resources to try it, and has worked closely with government officials to support their initiatives to reduce poverty and improve health.  This vision deserves encouragement!

I am long YONG.
