Portugal ranks first in e-government

In a press release by the european commission , accompanied by a pdf file , Portugal ranked 1st in a list of 32 countries.
 

This is a good indication that Portugal's recent attempts at diminishing bureaucracy in public services in bearing fruit.

On a side note, and probably due to these efforts, ina recent ranking by the World Bank , Portugal ranked 32nd overall, alongside the Netherlands and Austria, and well above its Southern European peers.

A better economic environment is paramount to attract good investment opportunities to the Iberian country, in its struggle to convince the markets that it is still a good country to invest in.
