What does the future of the internet mean for our Children?
Being an uncle of many young nieces and nephews, I have begun to fear the one tool that has revolutionized our way of life. This tool has provided easy instant access to information 24 / 7, as well as enhanced communication globally. Unfortunately, this useful tool has also provided a mechanism for sexual predators to and pedophiles to attack our children daily…..
I was visiting my niece (age 3) last week and she wanted to show me what she had learned to do the previous week – she pulled up a chair next to the computer, clicked on here favorite TV star’s website and began to play games with the mouse and keyboard. After my initial surprise and amazement, I soon became quite weary about what I was observing and the possible road with which this could lead.
With the recent rise of Facebook, Twitter, online blogs and various other communication sites, has come the rise of sexual predators / pedophiles – adults or older teenagers attacking our innocent children mentally and unfortunately physically. Over the last few years, there has been a multitude of infelicitous events concerning our children that have been caused by the inability to monitor the content of these sites or safeguard our children from the unscrupulous sexual predators that infiltrate them.
Are the sites to blame? Due to today’s current legal structure, I am afraid not. Post my conversation with Bill O’Dowd, President of Dolphin Digital Media, Inc, an internet-based holding company, (DPDM.OB), I became very aware of the risks associated with internet security and what is being done, particularly on their behalf, to mitigate such risks.
Bill O’Dowd knows all too well of the risks of who is a prominent figure in the Children and Teen entertainment market place, has set out to not only protect our children but provide the tools and desire to be involved.
Dolphin Digital Media has pared its secure process and technology with some of the world top entertainment, associations and fan clubs. Bill O’Dowd, CEO of Dolphin Digital Media, has created Dolphin's core brands of popular television programs for children including Nickelodeon's top-rated series Zoey 101, Ned's Declassified School Survival Guide, and the mystery movie franchise Roxy Hunter, among many others. Earlier this year, Dolphin Digital also became the exclusive ten-year licensee of Dolphin Entertainment's worldwide digital rights to its current and future properties. Our view of Dolphin Digital Media and Logica is that they are pairing the star branding with security mechanisms required to give our children the entertainment that they demand while at the same time protecting them from the negative aspects that our created in today’s connected society.
I finally believe there is a solution to the turmoil that the internet has created, let’s just hope we have a greater adoption of offerings like Dolphin’s versus these other havens that are providing a breading zone for predators…
Dolphin Digital Media, Inc. (DPDM.ob) will be able to revolutionize the market place by branding their productions with today’s hottest children personality, but providing the solution that every parent needs – internet security.
