Resources Connection Inc. (RECN) beat analyst predictions in its most recent financial results for its second quarter of 2014. The professional services company reported earnings of $7.1M and $0.18 per share, up from $5.9M and $0.14 per share in the year-ago quarter. Revenue improved 3.4% from $141.2M a year ago to $146.0M this quarter. Both revenue and earnings per share beat analyst predictions of $139.5M and $0.15 per share respectively. President and CEO Tony Cherbak remarked that the company is pleased with its results in its key financial metrics of revenue, gross margin, and earnings. During the second quarter, Resources Connection paid a total $12.8M to its shareholders through dividends and share repurchases.
