American Video Teleconferencing Corp. believes the rare earths industry is where it wants to maintain a very strong focus and is looking to expand its holdings. According to the Company, it aggressively continues to search world-wide for opportunities in Precious, Base and Rare Earths metal projects in its future strategies.
Cerium, the second element in the Lanthanide series, is the most abundantly prevalent Rare Earth element. Cerium is an environmentally critical component in the manufacture of all kinds of environmental protection and pollution-control systems, from automobiles to oil refineries. One of the crucial chemical components in catalytic converters is Cerium oxide (or other Cerium compounds). Other Cerium-based pollution control catalysts help to significantly reduce the sulfur oxide emissions from oil refineries. Cerium is used as a diesel fuel additive for micro-filtration of pollutants and will also promote more complete fuel combustion thus reducing un-combusted smoky particulate and provide for a more energy efficient engine.
American Video Teleconferencing Corp. announced that Wayne Lockhart, BSc. Geology, has joined the company as special geological advisor to AVOT for advancing the company's exploration programs on its newly acquired rare earth property in Quebec. Mr. Lockhart has over 35 years experience in the mining business having worked for Falconbridge and Phelps Dodge in eastern Canada, Anglo American Corp. (DeBeers) in Africa and Benguet Cons. in the Philippines.
Mr. Lockhart in addition to being a lecturer at the University of New Brunswick in Geology has developed programs for the United Nations (UNDP). Mr. Lockhart is an Honorary Director of the Prospector and Developers Association of Canada (PDAC), a founding and former member of the Association of Exploration Geochemists and a Member of the Society of Economic Geologists.

Chesapeake Energy Corporation (NYSE:CHK) announced its 2011 first quarter financial and operational results. For the quarter, Chesapeake reported a net loss to common stockholders of $205 million ($0.32 per fully diluted common share), operating cash flow of $1.404 billion (defined as cash flow from operating activities before changes in assets and liabilities) and ebitda of $167 million (defined as net income before income taxes, interest expense, and depreciation, depletion and amortization) on revenue of $1.612 billion and production of 280 billion cubic feet of natural gas equivalent (bcfe). The company's 2011 first quarter results include various items that are typically not included in published estimates of the company's financial results by certain securities analysts. Excluding the items detailed below, for the 2011 first quarter, Chesapeake reported adjusted net income to common stockholders of $518 million ($0.75 per fully diluted common share) and adjusted ebitda of $1.346 billion.
