I am here to share my views on stock

So now that we have our location stayed at sealed in, we’re off and running. In the screenshot under, at left, discern the info obstruct which becomes noticeable very concisely, giving you the principle thoroughfare you’ll be subsequent, way and assessed time to location stayed at, and the placement you are navigating to.

Once this moves away, you’ll observe the video screen on the right, above. Lets take a speedy expedition of it:

  • At the foundation left you’ll observe the time outstanding, and a spot that will be green, red or yellow if traffic info is available; tap this paddock to depart into traffic scenery (shown at left below)
  • The worse right paddock presentations the thoroughfare you are presently on
  • The compass missile at the apex left of the depiction points north and allows you toggle between north up and path up
  • The green paddock at the apex presentations your next turn; tap it and you’ll get the next turn preview video screen shown under at right

On the turn preview video screen, you’ll observe numerous new options:

  • The worse left missile takes you back to real-time navigation; this pick becomes noticeable at the matching placement in other circumstances as well
  • The zoom icons are self-explanatory
  • The someone icon renders you Street View for the turn
  • The items icon renders you a text / table scenery of turn-by-turn main purpose

Once you come at your location stayed at, a Street View photograph becomes noticeable (if available).

 Menu options

Your Android phone’s items button contributes up the subsequent picks when navigating, shown at right:

  • Search – Functions the matching as the hardware explore button, exploring along road (more on this below)
  • Route Info – Zooms to an overview of the every part of road (with traffic info), and gives picks for a turn-by-turn table and road alternatives
  • Layers – Allows you to add the subsequent layers: Traffic scenery, satellite, parking, gas places, ATM & banks, and eateries
  • Mute
  • Exit Navigation
  • More – This renders you four options: Directions table, Choose location stayed at, Help, Terms, privacy & notices

Interface weaknesses

There are a small number other odds and comes to an end on the opposing boundary that I should mention:

  • There is no nighttime scenery, and it’s just too radiant to use at night; I manually changed to the darker satellite scenery because of this, but that devours into your written knowledge arrange
  • I truly hope the depiction presented assessed time of attainment (ETA) as an alternative time to location stayed at
  • GMN does not show clearly your prevailing tempo or tempo limits; good aspects for lead-foot sorts
  • Some of the least worth text-to-speech I’ve ever discovered

Search along route

As referred atop, GMN sanctions you to explore along your route. You can entry to this by the hardware explore button on the Droid or by the GMN items option. Either way contributes up voice search. Nice!

At left you can observe explore effects for McDonalds. The left and right missiles progress along the road, while the items icon gives table scenery that presentations positions, but (unfortunately) does not give way to the picked placement or way from route.
