Reuters reports that the consensus of economists at the weekend meeting of the American Economic Association's annual meeting is not very optimistic. Many economists are projecting an annual average GDP growth around 2%. This is less than needed to support employment growth at the same rate as population growth.
Unfortunately, I recognize many of the reasons for the bleak outlook.
Fortunately, few have poorer forecasting records than economists.
I leave it to you to determine if the glass is half empty or half full.
