The SEC’s watchdog releases its semi-annual report to Congress, and within it is an examination of an anonymous tip explaining how agency staffers discovered a “massive fraud” by a hedge fund manager and never pursued it. The complaint also alleges that the SEC’s examination staff “pointed out that the hedge fund manager in question was listed as one of the top 25 people responsible for the 2008 financial crisis by Time magazine.” Report: (pdf)
