Ultrabook makers plan to use touchscreens in some Windows 8 models, claims Digitimes, with the goal of slowing down the cannibalization of notebook sales by tablets. Whether ultrabook vendors succeed in this goal remains to be seen, given the roles software and form factor play in the iPad's (AAPL) success, but broader PC touchscreen use would be a positive for providers of enabling technology, such as ATML and SYNA.
