Chinese banks loaned ¥640.5B ($101.5B) in December, ahead of expectations for ¥600B, and the M2 money supply accelerated 13.6% vs. forecasts for 12.7%. The figures are raising hopes among some that easier monetary policy is already in the process of being implemented.
