Rosengren defends dissent

"This recovery has already been too slow, and we do not want premature tightening of monetary policy to delay the return to more normal economic conditions," says Boston Fed president Eric Rosengren, arguing for a very slow wind-down of the QE program. The Fed, he says, continues to miss both its employment and inflation mandates by "fairly large margins."

Rosengren dissented from December's FOMC decision to begin the taper. He is not a voter on the committee this year.
