Salesforce (CRM +3.5%) states the number of apps built and optimized for its Salesforce1 platform (fuses CRM app development services from Salesforce's Heroku, Force.com, and ExactTarget units) has doubled since the platform's November launch, and that 250+ partners have committed to developing apps for the Salesforce1 AppExchange site (offers apps meant to work with Salesforce's products). The company adds the launch of Salesforce1, which brought with it hundreds of APIs and a strong focus on mobile optimization, led to a 96% increase in the platform's mobile app monthly active users, and a 46% increase in active users for custom mobile apps, in its first month of availability.
Salesforce1 is a key part of Salesforce's efforts to stay ahead of Microsoft, Amazon, and Google in a very competitive enterprise cloud app platform (PaaS) market.
Shares are now close to their all-time high of $58.37.
