Glaxo ups its ante in Africa

Over the next five years, GlaxoSmithKline (GSK) plans to invest over $200M in Africa citing its attractive long-term growth potential.

Management will expand manufacturing in Nigeria and Kenya and build five new factories. Possible locations are Rwanda, Ghana and Ethiopia.

The company will invest 25M pounds to create an open-access R&D facility for non-communicable diseases, a first for the continent.
