The government of Jordan nominates Jeffrey Sachs to be the new president of the World Bank, saying that the professor has the experience to tackle problems like poverty and sustainable development. Despite the tip of the cap, Sachs looks like a long shot to oddsmakers with Larry Summers (4/11), Susan Rice (9/2), Hillary Clinton (9/2), Kemal Dervis (9/1), and Timothy Geithner (9/1) listed on the board as the favorites.
