Omnicom (OMC +0.8%) and Interpublic Group (IPG +0.6%) are creating a joint venture to handle global advertising for General Motors' (GM) Chevrolet brand. The two companies handle much but not all of the Chevy business, and the move is aimed at saving money and delivering a more consistent ad message. GM had put the business, one of the biggest accounts on Madison Avenue, into review last year.
