MetroPCS (PCS +1.2%) is joining its larger peers in throttling download speeds (previously) for subscribers who exceed specified data usage levels. The discount carrier is also raising the price of its unlimited data plan by $10 to $70/month, albeit while eliminating streaming restrictions. The news could be a modest positive for Leap Wireless (LEAP) and Sprint (S), both of whom still aggressively push unlimited data plans.
