Under Armour (NYSE:UA) is up 1.4% to more than double the return of the S&P Retail ETF.
The company's uncanny year of high-level performance for its endorsers continued yesterday when Jordan Spieth won the U.S. Open wearing UA apparel prominently. Spieth became only the 6th golfer ever to win the the event in the same year as the Masters.
Earlier this month, UA brand ambassador Stephen Curry capped off a significant year with a NBA title in a high-ratings series.
Sports analysts have forecast a significant benefit to UA revenue from the rise in popularity of both Curry and Spieth.
Both Spieth and Curry were signed by Under Armour at levels below that of comparable Nike stars.
