The stock market looks set for a flat open, as futures have remained inside a narrow range while markets across Asia and Europe have built on their gains from yesterday; Dow -0.1%, S&P and Nasdaq flat.
Most Asian markets closed the week on a winning note, including China's Shanghai Composite +1.6% on the day and Japan's Nikkei +1.1%; major European indexes trade modestly higher, including U.K.'s FTSE +0.5%, France's CAC +0.4% and Germany's DAX +0.2%.
In U.S. corporate news, GE +1.7% premarket after reporting operating earnings that were aided by strength in aviation and transportation, while Schlumberger -1.4% after turning in a relatively strong performance but warning about future results.
U.S. Treasury prices are little changed, with the 10-year yield at 2.01%.
