Netlist (NLST +4.8%) states the USPTO has upheld its '434 and '501 patents in final inter partes reviews, following challenges by SanDisk's Smart Modular Technologies unit.
The patents in question are among the seven asserted in a Northern California suit against SanDisk and flash controller IC developer Diablo Technologies. Netlist says it has now been successful in defending 5 of the 7 patents.
In December, the USPTO upheld the '434 and '501 patents in initial IPRs. A favorable appeals court ruling was obtained in January for Netlist's suit against chipmaker Inphi.
