Adidas turns to robots to make shoes

|By:, SA News Editor

Adidas (OTCQX:ADDYY, OTCQX:ADDDF) announces it will open a mass production factory in Germany next year with robots doing a bulk of the assembly. The company will pull some of its production out of China and Vietnam if the robot plan goes to form.

A similar plant is expected to be opened in the U.S. next year.

Adidas thinks the two "Speedfactory" facilities can produce one million shoes a year within a couple of years when its automation production technology is fully developed.
