A "technology disruption" Monday evening left thousands of international travelers stuck in U.S. airports for hours on one of the busiest travel days of the year.

"At this time, there is no indication the service disruption was malicious in nature," the Customs and Border Protection agency declared.

All affected airports were back up and running by late Monday.
