Honda invests $150M for U.S. production of new 10-speed transmission

Honda (NYSE:HMC) says it has invested nearly $150M in two U.S. plants for making 10-speed automatic transmission for front-wheel-drive vehicles.

HMC says the investment includes $100M for a new assembly line and production modifications at its plant in Tallapoosa, Ga., plus $49M at the Russells Point, Ohio, facility to provide new equipment and increase production capacity.

HMC says the new automatic transmission will go first into the 2018 Honda Odyssey.
