JD.com establishes logistics group to offer services across industries

Chinese e-commerce firm JD.com (NASDAQ:JD) has set up a new business group, JD Logistics, to offer corresponding services to businesses in numerous industries.

It will offer business partners warehousing, transport, delivery and after-sales service as well as logistics among a variety of supply-chain solutions.

The unit will be headed by JD.com head of fulfillment Zhenhui Wang as chief executive, reporting directly to JD.com CEO Richard Liu.

The company operates 256 warehouses along with 6,906 delivery/pickup stations across China.
