SoftBank (SFTBY +0.7%) is planning to build a huge solar farm in Northern Japan, Nikkei reports, one with battery storage that will help smooth power flows into the grid.

The company is working on the ¥20B (about $179M) project with Mitsubishi UFJ Lease & Finance.

It's expected to generate up to 65 MW of power and store about 17,500 kilowatt-hours (enough to power 1,700 households for a day), and to power up in fiscal 2020.
