One of the U.K.'s biggest pension scheme investors calls on Akzo Nobel (OTCQX:AKZOF, OTCQX:AKZOY) to engage with U.S. suitor PPG Industries (NYSE:PPG) over a revised $29B bid for the company.

The Universities Superannuation Scheme, which manages £57B ($73.6B), says the revised is enough for "meaningful and constructive" dialogue.

Separately, at Akzo's annual meeting, the company refused a request from a group of shareholders to hold an extraordinary general meeting to discuss the future of Chairman Antony Burgmans.
