The Fed's balance sheet expands again - and again, it's mainly in mortgage-backed securities, Treasurys and agency debt - but by a smaller amount, to $2.141T from $2.125T. The central bank said yesterday it would be buying MBS into the first quarter of 2010. It's still winding down emergency lending as it buys Treasurys.
